August 25, 2004

According to Deep-Purple.net, the U.K. company which produced the original candles for the DEEP PURPLE "Burn" album sleeve are looking at producing a limited number of candle sets from the original moulds (which they still have) for collectors. If you are at all interested, please send an e-mail to [email protected] (with the subject "candles"). The candles will only be available as a set of five. The manufacturers are going ahead with a test shortly. Provided this is successful and the moulds hold up, Deep-Purple.net able to announce the final details and price. Everyone who has registered an interest will be contacted at that time.

In other news, EMI have two more slipcased DEEP PURPLE doubles lined up for release this year. The first comprises regular CD editions of "Burn" and "Stormbringer", while the second has remastered editions of "In Rock" and "Who Do We Think We Are". Both are due in September, and both will be deleted at the end of January 2005.
